SAN MARCOS, Texas — Police in San Marcos are investigating a double shooting that left two dead early Saturday morning near Texas State University. Officers were dispatched to San Antonio Street at Guadalupe Street for reports of shots fired. When they arrived at the scene, they found two confirmed fatalities.

The fatal shooting happened around 2:40 a.m. near the intersection of San Antonio Street and Guadalupe Street, just steps from the city’s downtown Square. The district is known as a popular nightlife hub with bars, restaurants, and live music venues that draw locals and Texas State University students alike.
