Sean Longstaff's Newcastle United exit is drawing closer as the academy graduate bids farewell to the club he has called home for over 20 years. The midfielder, who struggled for game time under Eddie Howe last term, is closing in on a move to Leeds United that will see him once again earn regular minutes, while remaining close to the north east.

Sean Longstaff looks set to become Leeds United’s fifth signing of the summer after a deal in principle with Newcastle United was agreed on Tuesday night.

Sean Longstaff is set to leave Newcastle United in a £12 million deal with Leeds United, but the club is not expected to immediately pursue a like-for-like replacement in midfield. According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail,

So far, they have signed Lukas Nmecha from Wolfsburg on a free transfer, as well as centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw from the same club. Jaka Bijol has arrived from Udinese while Gabriel Gudmundsson became the fourth addition to the squad last week.
