Undrafted out of the University of the Pacific, the two-way collegian was 10 months old when his dad faced the Angels in the 2002 American League Division Series.

WESTFIELD – For the fourth consecutive year, a member of the Westfield Starfires was selected in the Major League Baseball Draft, as right-handed pitcher Cole Raymond was taken in the 17th round, 499th overall, by the Los Angeles Angels.

The question for the Angels coming into the draft was if they’d use the No. 2 pick to continue their strategy under GM Perry Minasian.
