Veteran forward Jeff Skinner joined the San Jose Sharks after signing a one-year, $3 million contract last week, following a Stanley Cup Final run with the Edmonton Oilers.

While the writing was probably on the wall that Jeff Skinner wouldn't be returning to the Edmonton Oilers, it became official on Friday.

Skinner originally arrived in Edmonton after the Buffalo Sabres bought out the three years remaining on the eight-year, $72-million contract he signed ahead of the 2019-20 season. At the time of his deal with the Sabres, Skinner was coming off of the career-best 40-goal campaign he recorded during his first season in Buffalo.
