A pair of conflicting reports have emerged of just how long Jeanie Buss will remain governor of the Lakers after agreeing to sell the team in June.

Jeanie and her five siblings received the majority stake in the franchise upon Jerry's death in 2013 and she has served in the governor's role.

Jeanie Buss will “remain governor of the franchise and continue to oversee all team operations on a day-to-day basis for the foreseeable future,” according to a news release Wednesday officially announcing the sale of the Los Angeles Lakers to billionaire Mark Walter.
