A new brush fire has developed in the Blue Hills State Reservation, sending smoke into surrounding Massachusetts communities.

MILTON – Hillside Street in the Blue Hills Reservation is closed until further notice as fire crews continue to work on extinguishing brush fires that first broke out Monday across 40 acres of the 7,000-acre property managed by the state's Department of Conservation and Recreation.

(WJAR) — Fire crews were battling hot spots from a large brush fire in Milton, Massachusetts on Tuesday. The fire began near Houghton's Pond at Blue Hills Reservation Monday afternoon, NBC 10 Boston reported. The fire grew to around 40 acres as dry and windy conditions continued.
