One airline's loss is another's gain, as growing low-cost carrier Breeze Airways scoops up western U.S. routes dropped by Avelo Airlines, pressed by financial issues.

McKinney broke ground on a passenger terminal at its airport Friday to add another commercial airport to the growing region.

The terminal is expected to be completed and nonstop flights are expected to begin in late 2026, airport officials said.
