Three hours north of where a troop of monkeys escaped a lab earlier this month, two female emus, Thelma and Louise, are on the loose in South Carolina.

The Horry County Police Department wrote about the large missing birds Wednesday, saying, "We are not emu-sed."

In an interview with CBS News, Morace said the emus are named Thelma and Louise — inspired by the 1991 movie of the same name, starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis as two friends on the run from the law.

After more than 40 monkeys escaped from a lab about an hour west of Charleston, now there's attention on two emus described as "feral" running wild north of Myrtle Beach. This week the Horry County Police Department said they were aware of the loose emus "and have made contact with the owner.
