James Gunn’s Superman movie is doing better than most people thought it would. After opening in theaters recently, the film is already beating early expectations. According to Box Office Mojo and The Numbers,

Over the next year alone, DC Studios will introduce the films Supergirl and Clayface in theaters and the series Lanterns on HBO Max, all part of a bold ten-year plan," added Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav. "The DC vision is clear, the momentum is real, and I couldn't be more excited for what's ahead."

The filmmaker and co-head of DC Studios took to Threads on Sunday to express his appreciation after the superhero blockbuster saw an estimated global debut of $217 million .
