EDT on Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported an air quality alert in effect until Thursday at midnight EDT for Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, Allegan and Van Buren counties.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy issued an Air Quality Advisory for five West Michigan counties through Saturday.

On July 15, rain and thunderstorms are expected in southern Michigan and in the Upper Peninsula. Then, more rain and thunderstorms are forecast statewide on July 16. Widespread haze is included in the forecast for northern Michigan as the Canadian wildfire smoke moves over Michigan.
