A flood watch is already in place for Green Bay where they are expecting 2 to 3 inches of rain over a short time span, with locally higher amounts possible, and storms may reach Chicago, Milwaukee and Green Bay around 4 p.m. local time.
Depression or no depression, the system could bring several inches of rain to the north-central Gulf Coast, including Alabama, through Friday. The National Weather Service in Mobile thinks that the most rain with this system will likely fall closer to the coast, with scattered storms possible.
Storm Team 10 and the National Hurricane Center are monitoring an area of showers and storms near Florida for tropical development in the coming days. This disturbance is now designated as Invest 93L and is expected to move westward across the northern Gulf coast towards Louisiana by the end of the week.
