Instagram users will soon be able to manually reset the recommendation algorithm that determines what they see in their feeds.

Instagram has started offering the ability to reset Instagram algorithm recommendations across Explore, Reels, and Feed to a fresh start.

Instagram already allows users to curate their recommendations by labeling specific posts as "interested" and "not interested," as well as hide content with captions that contain certain words or phrases. Instagram has also debuted other features related to teen safety and well-being in recent months.

Instagram is testing the ability for users to reset their recommendations, the company announced on Tuesday. By resetting your recommendations, you would be starting fresh and retraining the app’s algorithm about the content you enjoy across your Explore page, home feed, and Reels tab.

The social media platform said that over time the recommendations will get personalised again based on the content and accounts you interact with
