One of the gorillas at the Memphis Zoo died July 6, the zoo announced on X July 14. The 37-year-old gorilla, named Kwizera, was found unresponsive during a routine check, the zoo said in the post.
Kwizera was adopted into the Memphis Zoo family in 2009, coming from Buffalo, New York, and joined the zoo's first cohesive gorilla group in over 15 years.
