Denver Summit FC had to receive the blessing of another Colorado pro team before officially assuming the name of the new women's soccer club.

The NWSL 's 16th team finally has a name: Denver Summit FC. The name emerged as the favorite not only among the ownership group, but among fans who were asked to vote on six different options in recent months.

The team's crest, meant to to reflect the Colorado landscape, is a dark green image of mountains set in front of an reddish-orange and gold sunset.
