One person is dead after a fire under a DeKalb County overpass Tuesday night, which also led to a multi-car pileup on I-85, officials said.

Police said several separate crashes on I-85 appeared to have been caused due to drivers looking at a fire that was started under the bridge.

There's a heavy law enforcement presence on I-85 NB at Northcrest Road where a serious crash was reported in DeKalb County late Tuesday night.

Most lanes of I-85 northbound in DeKalb County are closed following a Tuesday night crash. The crash happened at Northcrest Road around 9:40 p.m., according to a Georgia 511 alert. A Georgia Department of Transportation camera shows one lane of traffic slowly moving.
